CHG-MERIDIAN announces partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association

CHG-MERIDIAN is pleased to announce its corporate charity partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association)

Corporate social responsibility projects have always been important for the CHG-MERIDIAN group, and the UK have set themselves the target of supporting the MND Association through various fundraising activities over the coming years.

The association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that funds and promotes global research into the disease and provides support for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease.

The charities mission is to:

  • Improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers
  • To fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments, to bring us closer to a cure for MND
  • To campaign and raise awareness, so the needs of people with MND and everyone who cares for them are recognised and addressed by wider society

Declan McGlone, Vice President Finance UK & Ireland had this to say about the partnership. “Throughout the CHG-MERIDIAN group, our commitment to corporate social responsibility has always been guided by our employees. Our staff chose to support the MND Association as unfortunately, this horrible disease had an all too real effect on us far too close to home. We will do everything we can to support our staff with their fundraising activities over the next few years in their efforts to support this wonderful charity.”

Our Story

In May 2019, we received the unfortunate news that one of our dear colleagues, Frances Emery, sadly passed away.

Frances was with CHG MERIDIAN for over 20 years and was one of the most beautiful and genuine people you would ever hope to work with. This was devastating news for all of us, and especially many of our colleagues who worked very closely with Frances over this time.

Frances was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease some time ago, and as a result, had to stop working in April 2018. Many of her close friends and colleagues at CHG kept in regular contact with her, and she was always upbeat and positive about her situation, despite the awful nature of it.

It is because of this terrible situation that we have decided to form a partnership with the MND Association as we attempt to support this wonderful charity in their fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
