What are my options at the end of the contract?
Our customers have 4 options at the remarketing stage of the IT lifecycle.
- Extend the lease (this can be done for all of the equipment or a certain percentage of the kit)
- Return the assets
- Refresh the assets
- Purchase the assets
What do I need to do if I want to extend my lease agreement?
Contact you CHG-MERIDIAN account manager, and we arrange for the extension of the lease on a month by month basis by paying the existing rental payments, until you provide us with notice of termination and your intention to return the IT equipment. If you need the IT technology for a longer period, we can always provide you with a lower rental payment for a fixed-term extension.
What do I need to do if I want to return my IT technology?
Notify CHG-MERIDIAN of your plans; we will then confirm termination of the lease agreement and be in touch to provide you with a handy checklist of everything you need to do.
What do I do if I want to refresh my IT technology?
Contact your CHG-MERIDIAN account manager who will be more than happy to assist you in the process of upgrading your IT technology.
What do I need to do if I want to purchase the IT equipment?
Contact your CHG-MERIDIAN account manager who will be able to discuss the sale of the assets for fair market value. Due to reporting requirements, we can not provide a purchase price at the start of a lease. Fair market value is based on the amount we would expect to receive for the IT equipment if we were to sell through our technology centre.
Can CHG-MERIDIAN take care of the logistics and transportation?
Yes, simply tell us a time and date that works for you, and we will come and collect the assets. Once we've picked the assets up, we can then provide secure transportation to our IT remarketing centre.
Can CHG-MERIDIAN provide data deletion for my IT equipment?
Yes, we provide certified data deletion using the data deletion service Blancco, which is approved by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Furthermore, our process at our remarketing centre is ISO-certified to ISO 27001 and ISO 9001:2015.

Yes, IT remarketing is environmentally friendly, and we have a zero to landfill rate. 95 per cent of our kit has a route to market, meaning your old assets can go on to be used elsewhere. Naturally, some of the assets we receive are obsolete. In this case, we try to recycle and break down parts where possible in line with WEEE regulations, providing certification for any assets disposed on your behalf.

What hardware assets are eligible for IT remarketing?
All of the IT equipment you lease from CHG-MERIDIAN is eligible for IT remarketing. The process is simple. All you need to do is get in touch and arrange a date convenient for the collection of your old assets. We will then transport them safely to our service centre, where we assess the hardware and determine the remarketing process. We have a route to market for 95 per cent of our kit, and the assets we receive that are obsolete are recycled and broken down for parts where possible in line with WEEE directive. If we dispose of any of your assets, you will receive certification for this.
We also provide secure data wiping of all old hardware assets, so you can have peace of mind that when your asset refresh takes place, it is done so safely and securely. Validating the deletion of the information across your devices, we use software approved by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and BSI.
