Autotorino was founded in 1965 in Morbegno, from a single car dealership that became, in 2015, the first multi-brand dealer in Italy in terms of size, volume and turnover.
The IT infrastructure of the Group consists of more than 850 workstations, 180 being located in the Headquarters and the remaining ones distributed over the various subsidiaries throughout the country. The mix of assets (fully remotely managed at the HQ) is made up of two datacenters, pc desktops, thin clients and a mobile section composed of more than 650 smartphones and tablets. Historically Autotorino used to purchase their IT assets and continue to use them for longer lifecycles. However, the technological revolution has created new challenges and objectives for the IT team. Autotorino, therefore, required a mobile solution that would provide better flexibility to meet the needs of a continually changing market.
The company has therefore decided to approach a new IT management strategy, the operating lease, first with a project involving printers and then for mobile assets. For their mobile devices, Autotorino required a solution that could be delivered by a single partner, that is transparent and could also be easily scaled up or down according to the requirements of the company.
